Meet the man behind the business

Leonard Gouws started his career as a young enthusiastic man on the docks of Durban where he was part of a team, building container ships. It is here where he started his boilermaker apprenticeship some 30 years ago.

 

During 2018 he changed the shipping industry for the abattoir industry in Johannesburg. For the past 21 years he fabricated and maintained custom abattoir equipment.

 

Sadly during the pandemic hitting the world since 2019, one of the major abattoirs in Krugersdorp closed its doors, and forced Leonard to use his expertise for his own gain.

 

He started Abaworx where he, not only consult abattoirs and other major companies country wide on its specific needs, but also fabricate most of the equipment himself.
